SERVICES WE PROVIDE

WHAT WE DO
We offer a number of age appropriate services, which include games crafts, and learning projects. Each day we start with circle time. Each morning I lead the children in songs, activities, and we talk about what we will be learning for the day, and week. On our bulletin board, I have displayed what the children will be learning. The children look at pictures, letters, colors and shapes. Most of the activities are rotated thought the week. Some may be rescheduled due to weather or uncontrolled reasons.
After circle time, we work through various activities; great care and effort has been taken to provide the children with age appropriate activities. Encouragement is given when performing the tasks; and the opportunity to work independently with adult assistance unless it is sought.
We have designated Friday’s as our share days. At this time the children may bring a special item to share. With the exception of Friday’s I prefer the children not to bring anything from home. If this cannot be avoided, parents must accept full responsibility for the item in the event it is lost or broken.
Potty training is available with the understanding that the parent is responsible for enforcing the same potty training rules at home as I do in childcare. This will enable your child to have a consistent routine and be more successful in training. While your child is being taught to use the potty I ask that you send your child to care with elastic waste pants, no overalls, or clothing with suspenders, snaps buckles, belts or zippers. We want your child to continue to succeed in potty training.
We offer a variety of field trips to all; parents will be notified of each field trip in advance. Parents are invited and encouraged to join us on all field trips.
We let the children plant their own vegetables. They faithfully nurture their garden, and bringing their bounty to our table. The younger children are given a garden in progress to tend to. As they increase in age, they may begin seed cultivation. The daily tending of a garden I progress will be more interesting to the child and will offer immediate results, doing this will result in a positive experience for your child. Children love to eat foods they have had a hand in growing or preparing. Besides practical produce I also include some fun crops in the garden. After one successful season of nurturing a garden, your child will be more willing apprentice the next season. Gardening teaches a child responsibility and respect for growing things. All vegetables are grown organically no pesticides are used.
The children will be able to use the computers with assistance if needed. Small groups of children will rotate in and out of the computer area. Those not using the computers will be able to participate in other activities. I provide age appropriate computer software. No interned is allowed, that is left for the parent to decide what is appropriate for there child. However if more information is needed for an older child for a school report with the parent’s permission I do allow them to find the information they need.
